The Alliance for Affordable Internet (A4AI) has announce Mr. Olusola Teniola as its new National Coordinator for Nigeria.
Mr. Teniola takes over from Dr.. Ernest Ndukwe, who led the National Coalition since its inception in 2015.
As National Coordinator, Olusola will oversee the work of the A4AI Nigeria coalition to drive down the cost of internet access in the country. He has over 23 years of global ICT experience working in strategic management positions at several major telecom companies.
He was instrumental in the rollout of mobile and broadband services by World Telecom in Portugal (2003 – 2007) and has served in executive positions at British Telecom, Vodafone, Cisco Inc. and Alcatel-Lucent Technologies. Olusola is currently the CEO and board member of IS Internet Solutions (a Dimension Data company) in Lagos, Nigeria and is the ATCON President until April 2020.
The newly-appointed Olusola Teniola said:

I look forward to amplifying the voice of coalition members on key issues impacting affordability in Nigeria through strong collaboration between government, civil society and private sector players.”

Dr. Ndukwe was responsible for growing the Nigeria coalition, successfully leading policy change which helped Nigeria to achieve affordable internet data costs of 1.6% of average monthly income.
The Alliance for Affordable Internet (A4AI) is the world’s broadest technology sector coalition working to reduce the cost of internet access to enable universal, affordable access for all. Initiated by the Web Foundation in 2013, the Alliance is composed of 80+ member organisations from across the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors in both developed and developing countries. Working through a consultative, locally-driven and locally-led process in member countries throughout Africa, Asia, and Latin America. A4AI works to shape the policies and regulations needed to drive down prices and enable everyone, everywhere to afford to connect.
