Officers of the Ogun State police command have shot dead five suspected kidnappers during their tragic, and futile attempt to collect a N100m ransom.
Spokesperson of the police command, Abimbola Oyeyemi told journalists Tuesday evening at Egba Owode police headquarters that the deaths came as a result of a shoot-out.
Oyeyemi said the suspected kidnappers opened fire on policemen during a rescue operation mounted by the police. He said the kidnap survivor had been kept at a location at Ajura-Ogere road, Obafemi Owode local government for five days until the police was able to track down his abductors.
