The Governor of Gombe State and a presidential aspirant on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ibrahim Dankwambo on Tuesday assured that he would provide practicable solution to problems confronting the country if elected in 2019.
He also said if given the chance he would provide good leadership that would bring real change to the country, adding that his administration will declare war on poverty and injustice.
Dankwambo who spoke while meeting with PDP stakeholders in Abeokuta, said such fight should be the number one priority of a good leader in order to ensure the happiness of its citizens.
He said Nigerians rushed to vote in 2015 for change without asking the necessary questions on how the change will come.
The Presidential aspirant said he knows the workings of government hence he is capable of giving Nigerians what they want.
The Gombe state Governor said: “Nobody can do it alone, but when you understand the people you want to serve you are going to give them the best.
“I didn’t know there are potholes in Ogun state because there is no potholes Gombe state. But anyways, victory in 2019 is coming to our party PDP.
“We were all shouting we want change, but we didn’t ask how he wanted to change the whole thing from negative to positive. Is he even qualified to make the change” he said.
“I have been a governor for 7 years now and I am the only governor that came back the second time. We have provided leadership before and we are still going to do more of it.
“We have developed economic blueprint we will share it, we are still looking at the event. I will provide the leadership Nigerians want”.
Dankwambo who described the event as a ” family meeting” with the party stakeholders, said that Nobody can do it alone, saying “But, the ability to identify the people that can do the work is what we should look after”.
He further stressed that he has offered himself to the party, adding that the party has trained a lot of leaders.
The Presidential aspirant said he is ready to support any worthy aspirant, if the party found better candidate than him.
Earlier, he visited former President Olusegun Obasanjo at his presidential library in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.
Dankwambo, who arrived the Library around 1:10pm and left at exactly 2:00pm, spent time behind closed doors with the former President.
He disclosed that as a former Accountant-General of the federation under Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, he has father and son relationship with the former President.
The State Chairman, Sikirulai Ogundele said the party in the state through the efforts of a house of representatives member, Oladipupo Adebutu are united and strong. He assured Dankwambo that the party would support him in his ambition.
