Alhaji Mu’az Magaji, the former Kano State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure recently sacked by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje for celebrating Abba Kyari’s death has himself tested positive to coronavirus.
Magaji, in a series of Facebook posts on Thursday, apologised to many for his inability to respond to their messages. He said this was because of his deteriorating health condition.
In another post on his Facebook page, he solicited for prayers, while announcing that his sample earlier taken by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control tested positive to COVID-19.
He wrote: “Salam brothers and sisters I have been down for some days now, NCDC protocol activated. Need your prayers,” he said.
“Dear all, I do truly apologize for you not getting across to me on phone or msgs….I have been indisposed due to ongoing health challenges some of us going through in Kano.
“This morning my NCDC test is out. I have been confirmed Covid-19 Positive. And have been moved to one of the state facilities…pray for us!
“Going through a historical moment of our time. A time we will either live to remember or we will be remembered having lived in! Which ever applies Alhamdulillah!”
Since the state recorded its index COVID-19 case in April, Kano now has a total of 427 confirmed cases of the disease, second only to Lagos nationwide.
