Three members of an armed robbery syndicate have been arrested by men of Ogun State Police Command at the Idanyin community in Agbara.
The suspects are Toheed Salami, Ibrahim Ismaila and Michael Abiodun.
A statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi revealed that the suspects were arrested following a distress call received by the DPO Agbara division that armed robbers have invaded Idanyin and were raiding house to house dispossessing their victims of their belongings and inflicting various degrees of injury on them.
Upon the distress call, Oyeyemi added that the DPO Agbara division, Saleh Dahiru quickly led his anti robbery team to the scene and met the robbers attacking the residences of Kamieyefa Omosivwe and Oluyemi Olajide.
Oyeyemi said on sighting the police, the suspected robbers launched an attack on the police, but they were over powered. He stressed that one of the suspects escaped.
Items recovered from the suspects are two locally made guns.
The Command PPRO revealed that the injured victim has been taken to the hospital for medical attention.
Meanwhile, the commissioner of police Kenneth Ebrimson has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to special anti robbery squads SARS for discreet investigation.
