Six more persons have tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) at iSON Xperiences in Ibadan, the organisation where the Oyo State government said about 38 persons had earlier tested positive. This brings the total number of infected staff at this company to about 60, with other test results awaited.
The Oyo State government made this revelation on Twitter on Wednesday.
Governor Seyi Makinde tweeting via @seyimakinde stated that:
“The COVID-19 confirmation tests for six suspected cases came back POSITIVE. All six cases are from the same organisation, iSON Xperiences in Ibadan South West Local Government Area. So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State is 143.
“The company remains shut and will be decontaminated. The Emergency Operations Centre has continued intensive contact tracing to identify persons of interest linked to members of staff in the company.”
iSON Xperiences is a customer service provider for major telecommunications firms such as Airtel and MTN. With headquarters in Dubai, it has two Nigerian offices at Ilorin and Ibadan, which is the infested one.
The office is located at the Old Kingsway Building, Dugbe (very close to CBN, beside Shoprite, opposite Radio Nigeria) where more than 500 staff work, often in shifts of around 200 at a time.
