Two fake soldiers in police net after beating up lawyer in Ogun

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested two persons for impersonating men of the Nigeria Army in Agbado area of Ogun State.

A statement by the Police Command’s Spokesman, Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi in Abeokuta on Thursday stated that the two men, Joseph David and Adebayo Olanrewaju Ojoye, were arrested following a complaint from Mr. Paul Oniyo, a barrister and Chima Solomon that the two suspects, who put on military camouflage, accosted them, beat them up and inflicted injuries on them over a minor disagreement.

Oyeyemi said upon the complaint, the DPO of Agbado Division, Abioye Shittu led detectives to the scene where the suspects were arrested and brought to the station.

“On interrogation, it was discovered that the two acclaimed military men were mere impostors thriving on illegality for sustenance,” he stated

Oyeyemi said the police recovered from them various military hard wares, cap and camp bed.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation,” he said.
